¡Buenos Dias de Barcelona!
Semana Santa con mis hijas
Hello, friends—
I’m in one of my favorite countries this week, and, although I have long held that Madrid is my very favorite city, Barcelona in the spring is certainly giving Madrid a run for its money.
I was terrified of this trip. Terrified of TSA lines and gun-toting, taco-eating ICE agents in airports, and rogue presidents and the threat of instability anywhere. I’d promised this trip to my kiddos thinking one of them was going to be studying here this semester. When the study abroad trip fell through, we all agreed we still wanted to make the trip, so here we are, nerves notwithstanding.
The trip isn’t over yet, so it’s too soon to reach a definite conclusion about anything (besides, knock wood), but last night we did have an extraordinary meal at at Bacaro, a Venetian restaurant owned by friends of friends. Perfect combination of atmosphere, food, and friendliness. 10/10 would return! I’ll have more to say about the trip next week, I suspect. For now, please enjoy a few of my favorite photos so far.

Whether you celebrate Passover, Easter, neither, both, or something else altogether, may this week bring you companionship, comfort, curiosity, and courage. I send you all my love and gratitude for your work, your minds, and your love.
XOXO, Francesca

¡Qué cuidad esplendida! I hope your trip has continued wonderful.
So happy you are able to have this experience with two of your kids!
